Rural & Northern Immigration Pilot

Home Rural & Northern Immigration Pilot

The pilot immigration program in Canada refers to various immigration programs that are being tested for a limited time to assess their effectiveness in addressing the country’s economic and demographic needs.

Objective of this program

This program aims to attract skilled foreign workers to smaller communities in Canada. Eligibility requirements include a job offer from an employer in a participating community, language proficiency, and sufficient funds to settle in Canada.

Applicants must also meet the requirements of one of the federal economic immigration programs (e.g. Federal Skilled Worker Program). To apply, candidates must submit an expression of interest to the community they wish to settle in and receive an invitation to apply.

A community-led initiative

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program is geared toward local businesses in need of assistance in recruiting international workers. Canada’s immigration pilot programs target low-, middle-, and high-skilled foreign nationals to meet the country’s labor shortages.
